Perlite for agriculture is widely used as a soil conditioner in agricultural applications such as greenhouse farming, vegetable growing, seedling growing, floriculture, mushroom farming and soilless agriculture. Perlite’s 90% total porosity and 60% aeration porosity regulates soil drainage and provides aeration. In addition, thanks to the pores of perlite, filtration increases, evaporation decreases, and savings are achieved since the need for irrigation decreases. Since perlite, which is inorganic and does not carry or host diseases, has very few soluble ions, there are no salt and alkali problems. Thanks to perlite’s heat insulation feature, the effect of plants on temperature changes is reduced to a minimum. Perlite has a very long life and since its structure is not deteriorated in sterile production, it provides a lifespan of up to 6 years in soilless agriculture and provides the opportunity to obtain early products with the improvement of the production environment.

  • With its light structure, it creates an environment where the plant it is used in can grow easily.
  • Thanks to its water-holding porous structure, it reduces evaporation with feeding in plants or saplings.
  • It reduces the need for irrigation and also helps preserve moisture in the soil.
  • It is resistant to fading and does not wear out or fly away under the influence of water or wind.
  • It prevents weed formation and is fire resistant.
  • It provides thermal heat control in the roots of plants.
  • It acts as a natural insulation tool against hot and cold weather and also facilitates the pre-planting stages.
